Initial Scope Outline

A high-level overview of what the project will and will not include, setting initial boundaries.

1. Inclusions (What the project WILL cover):

Section titled “1. Inclusions (What the project WILL cover):”
  • Core Features: List the main functionalities that are definitely part of this initial project. (e.g., User authentication, product catalog, shopping cart).
  • Key Content Areas: Identify the essential sections or types of information the website/application will contain. (e.g., Homepage, product pages, about us, contact form).
  • Integrations (Initial): Note any initial integrations with other systems that are planned from the start. (e.g., Payment gateway integration, email marketing service).
  • Target Platforms/Devices (Initial): Specify the primary platforms or devices the project will initially focus on (e.g., Desktop web browsers, mobile web browsers).

2. Exclusions (What the project will NOT cover in this initial phase):

Section titled “2. Exclusions (What the project will NOT cover in this initial phase):”
  • Out-of-Scope Features: List functionalities that have been discussed but will not be part of the initial launch. (e.g., Advanced reporting, social media integration, mobile apps).
  • Content Not Included Initially: Specify any content areas or types of information that will be added later.
  • Integrations (Future): Note any integrations that are planned for future phases but not now.
  • Platforms/Devices for Future Consideration: Mention any platforms or devices that might be supported later but are out of the initial scope.
  • Core Features: User registration and login, browsing a catalog of services, submitting a booking request form.
  • Key Content Areas: Homepage, services overview page, individual service detail pages, contact us page, confirmation page.
  • Integrations (Initial): Integration with Stripe for payment processing.
  • Target Platforms/Devices (Initial): Desktop and mobile web browsers (responsive design).
  • Out-of-Scope Features: User profiles with booking history, admin dashboard for managing services, real-time chat support.
  • Content Not Included Initially: Blog section, customer testimonials (will be added in phase 2).
  • Integrations (Future): Integration with Google Calendar for automated scheduling.
  • Platforms/Devices for Future Consideration: Native iOS and Android mobile applications.
